About the role

  • Lead formulation development and process optimization projects for new and existing pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with quality, timelines, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of formulation scientists and technicians; set objectives, monitor performance, and drive capability building.
  • Ensure full compliance of development activities with GMP, internal SOPs, and applicable ICH and regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee pilot, scale-up, and validation batch manufacturing activities; provide technical leadership, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Review, approve, and take accountability for formulation protocols, batch records, and technical development documentation.
  • Act as the primary formulation interface with QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support successful technology transfer to manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or Process Engineering (required).
  • Doctorate in Pharmacy or equivalent advanced scientific degree (preferred).
  • 7–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leadership, supervisory, or managerial roles.
  • Experience in R&D or manufacturing environment.
