About the role

  • **POSITION OBJECTIVES:**
  • Based in Lyon and reporting to the Finance Directorate of HI, you will join the management control team for the federal network and national associations on a permanent contract (CDI).
  • As a Financial Controller you will ensure the financial management, budgetary steering and internal control of your scope, in compliance with local standards and Handicap International's financial framework.
  • You will provide operational support to the Directorate, to teams within your scope and to governance bodies, while contributing to cross-cutting assignments for the federal network.
  • In close collaboration with the Director, you will help strengthen governance and financial planning across the network.
  • **To achieve these objectives:**
  • **Accounting and Treasury Management**
  • You contribute to monthly and annual financial closings in coordination with the Federation HI shared services.
  • You monitor cash flow and anticipate financing needs.
  • You coordinate statutory audits and maintain relationships with auditors.
  • **Compliance and Internal Control**
  • You ensure compliance with legal, tax and regulatory obligations (annual accounts, VAT).
  • You contribute to the continuous improvement of internal control and risk management.
  • **Budgetary Management and Management Control**
  • You prepare, monitor and revise the budget.
  • You set up and analyze financial indicators (KPIs), monitor variances and identify risks.
  • You prepare operating accounts, financial reporting and materials for the General Assembly.
  • You provide support and guidance to budget holders.
  • **Institutional Funding**
  • You support the financial management of institutional contracts: budgets, amendments, reports, cash monitoring and audits.
  • You interface with Program teams, Institutional Funding teams and the HI Federation.
  • **Cross-cutting missions across the HI network**
  • You provide financial oversight for other national associations or shared network services (federal directorates, payroll management, etc.), as needed.
  • You carry out cross-cutting financial analyses, occasional studies or contribute to structural projects (process improvements, deployment of tools in national associations, at the federation or on programs).

Requirements

  • You have strong skills in financial management, accounting and management control.
  • You are highly proficient in Excel and Windows-based tools.
  • You are comfortable using HI's internal business software, notably Navision and the funding contract module.
  • You demonstrate autonomy, rigor and strong organizational skills.
  • You can analyze situations, propose improvements and focus your actions on practical solutions.
  • You show strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across networks in a multicultural environment in both French and English.
