About the role
- Design, build, and maintain realistic load tests simulating high-traffic usage (hundreds of thousands of users) across web and backend systems
- Execute performance testing, analyse results, and define action plans with service owners
- Drive continuous improvement in performance testing practices and guide engineering teams on best practices
- Promote and implement automation and self-service solutions to reduce manual effort
- Take ownership of deliverables and contribute to capacity planning decisions
- Mentor peers and act as a role model within the team
- Ensure consistent, reliable delivery across all tasks
- Communicate test outcomes and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with development and operations teams
- Build deep understanding of microservices architecture and how performance issues manifest across systems.
Requirements
- Strong experience with performance/load testing in production environments
- Solid understanding of networking, databases, and server operations in the context of load testing
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g. Chef, Ansible)
- Strong understanding of application and infrastructure performance metrics
- Experience working with diverse system architectures and technical stakeholders
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to varied audiences
- Experience contributing to automation and testing frameworks
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence team practices.
