About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
- Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
- Conduct preliminary analyses of data in areas such as trajectory adequacy and model dimensional consistency
- Make quantitative judgments concerning technical data
- Use a personal computer for analyses and development of documentation and reports
- Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
- Support the E50 Digital Initiatives group working on robotics, remote support, data analytics/artificial intelligence, and video production for fleet and shipyard support
- Travel 10%-25% of the time
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship required
- One of the following may substitute for an Associate's Degree: NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience; High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience
- Mechanical/structural experience is nice to have
- Knowledge or experience with 3D modeling animation is nice to have
- Interest or experience in video production is a plus
- No security clearance required to start
- Ability to travel 10%-25% of the time
