About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
- Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
- Conduct preliminary analyses of data using provided guidelines, including trajectory adequacy and model dimensional consistency
- Make quantitative judgments concerning technical data
- Use a personal computer to perform analyses and develop documentation and reports
- Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
- Serve as a Repair Activity Representative for the CVN 68 Inactivation Program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate may be equivalent to an Associate's Degree
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate may be equivalent to an Associate's Degree
- High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience may be equivalent to an Associate's Degree
- High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience may be equivalent to an Associate's Degree
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
- Ability to conduct preliminary technical data analyses
- Ability to use a personal computer for analyses and engineering documentation
- Ability to produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
