About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
- Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
- Conduct preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided
- Make quantitative judgments concerning technical data
- Use a personal computer to perform analyses and develop documentation and reports
- Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
- Develop, plan, and schedule WAFs, work permits, and safety tagouts
- Approve issuance of WAFs, work permits, and safety tagouts for assigned systems
- Provide on-site resolution of related problems and technical issues
- Ensure safe work and testing and operation of responsible areas of control
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship required
- Final clearance required to start
- One of the following may substitute for an Associate's Degree: NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience; High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience
- Experience in development and execution of Navy Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) and safety tagout documents and specifications
- Training and qualification on all work control and tagout processes
- Thorough knowledge of NAVSEA 0905-485-6010 Submarine 6010 requirements
- Knowledge of the Submarine Fly-By-Wire Ship control System Certification Boundary Book
- Knowledge of the Submarine Certification Boundary Book
- Knowledge of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual
- Knowledge of the Tag-out Users Manual
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
