About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Mentor and lead all levels of personnel responsible for developing Visual Work Instructions (VWIs)
Assist in analyzing digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate VWIs
Interprets and adds design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements
Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP
Incorporates required changes as applicable
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Make decisions that directly impact departmental goals and business operations
Coordinate with other organizations in the value stream to meet program objectives
Perform all other duties as assigned by senior leadership, including participating in cross-functional teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional, exempt and/or supervisory work experience
Master's degree and 4 years relevant, exempt experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Note: Experience obtained while performing work as a Visual Instruction Developer will be considered towards qualifying ONLY for Exempt jobs specific to Visual Instruction job titles.
