About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Mentor and lead all levels of personnel responsible for developing Visual Work Instructions (VWIs)
  • Assist in analyzing digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate VWIs
  • Interprets and adds design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements
  • Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP
  • Incorporates required changes as applicable
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Make decisions that directly impact departmental goals and business operations
  • Coordinate with other organizations in the value stream to meet program objectives
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by senior leadership, including participating in cross-functional teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional, exempt and/or supervisory work experience
  • Master's degree and 4 years relevant, exempt experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • Note: Experience obtained while performing work as a Visual Instruction Developer will be considered towards qualifying ONLY for Exempt jobs specific to Visual Instruction job titles.
