About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Pipe Fitters are responsible for installing these complex systems together on the ship and in the shop
- More than 23 miles of pipe are installed on a submarine, and more than 230 miles of pipe are installed on a carrier
- Learn to read blueprints, fabricate, install, inspect, and test the many piping systems onboard a ship
- Attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class where you will receive important information needed for you to perform your job
- Receive other training needed to enhance your knowledge of the job.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service
- Transitioning Military candidates can begin applying within final 12 months of military service
- Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction.
