Cost Estimating Analyst 2
HIICost Estimating Analyst estimating manufacturing and engineering costs based on proposals at HII. Analyzing specifications and calculating costs using labor pricing schedules and historical data.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Estimates labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers
- Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data
- Collects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors
- Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labor
- Prepares and maintains historical cost data
- Creates cost models for cost estimating elements
- Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience
- Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate may be equivalent to Bachelor's Degree
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate may be equivalent to Bachelor's Degree
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience may be equivalent to Bachelor's Degree
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience may be equivalent to Bachelor's Degree
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience may be equivalent to Bachelor's Degree
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience may be equivalent to Bachelor's Degree
