Procurement Planning Control Representative 1
HIIProcurement Planning Control Representative sourcing and scheduling materials for Newport News Shipbuilding operations. Collaborating with production and inventory teams to ensure efficient material movement.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process.
- Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
- Purchases, plans, and coordinates resulting material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
- In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
- Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, approves payment, and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
- Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience
- One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
