About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • provide cost, schedule, and earned value support to the Naval Architecture Cost Center CAMs
  • maintain compliant cost control systems, monitor cost and schedule performance, ensure alignment with EVMS and government requirements
  • prepare cost and schedule analyses
  • support monthly VAR compliance reviews
  • assist with internal surveillance activities
  • coordinate EVMS training
  • maintain earned value metrics
  • support IBR preparation
  • design major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
  • develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal
  • investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost
  • coordinate with other organizations affected by design development
  • make layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures
  • check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning
  • identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
  • 0 years with a PhD
  • experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools
  • working knowledge of Visual Basic or similar programming languages used for automation and process improvement
  • experience with programming for data manipulation, reporting, or workflow optimization highly desirable
  • prior experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • solid understanding of cost, schedule, and performance measurement concepts.
