About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
Provides technical support for NNS low voltage electrical and controls systems
Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems, software for complex equipment and machinery
Directs work assignments of engineering service providers and contractors to design and construct shipyard facilities and equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
2 years of relevant exempt experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics is preferred
Knowledge and experience with PLC programming and logic development (various programming languages)
Robotics/machine automation
Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
Network Communication Protocols
Technical aptitude and understanding of both electrical and mechanical components and how they work together as a system
Development and/or interpretation of electrical, mechanical and controls schematics
