Electrical Engineer 3
HIIEngineer responsible for researching, developing, and testing electrical components as part of HII's shipbuilding division. Overseeing activities related to power and lighting shipboard systems for U.S.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
- Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
- Responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to assigned power and lighting shipboard systems
- Perform research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, and systems, in accordance with all contractual requirements
- Initiate procurement specifications, review and approve supplier proposals, and review supplier furnished information
- Interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives and support vendor design reviews and testing
- Develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings
- Interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment
- Address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility
- Support shipbuilding production department as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
- 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
- Previous shipbuilding experience is highly desired with experience in Electronics power system design and/or EMI/MIL-STD-1399 technical experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD
- Experience in the design and development of power systems and equipment
- Current security clearance is a plus
