About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
  • Responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to assigned power and lighting shipboard systems
  • Perform research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, and systems, in accordance with all contractual requirements
  • Initiate procurement specifications, review and approve supplier proposals, and review supplier furnished information
  • Interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives and support vendor design reviews and testing
  • Develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings
  • Interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment
  • Address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility
  • Support shipbuilding production department as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
  • Previous shipbuilding experience is highly desired with experience in Electronics power system design and/or EMI/MIL-STD-1399 technical experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD
  • Experience in the design and development of power systems and equipment
  • Current security clearance is a plus
