About the role

  • provides broad support across the Corporate Communications team through a combination of communications and marketing, operational, and administrative responsibilities
  • supports communications efforts across all channels
  • manages recurring department processes
  • assists with financial and vendor-related activities
  • helps ensure the team’s day-to-day operations run smoothly
  • serves as a key support function for employee communications, leadership communications, news monitoring, budget coordination, and department operations
  • occasional travel is required
  • content strategy support and creation, including gathering, writing, editing, and distributing content for internal and external channels, including newsletters, emails, and documents
  • Executive communications content creation and editing including emails, slide presentations, social media posts
  • Planning and coordination of corporate events including town halls, communications team meetings and other gatherings, team representation at trade shows
  • Financial/budget management support, including tracking spending, invoice processing, monitoring regular expenses, vendor coordination and onboarding, expense report processing
  • logistics support for media tours and special events
  • coordination of photo gathering, including logistics around photo and video shoots, and development of employee feature stories as needed
  • supports management of digital asset manager platform
  • oversight of HII’s employee discount program and HII’s company store
  • supporting crisis communications planning, training, and responses as needed
  • management of communications email inbox, including reviewing, routing and responding to requests
  • management of department processes and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong writing, communication, organizational, and time‑management skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills, interpersonal relations and presentation skills, and can-do attitude
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and best practices
  • Knowledge of AP style writing
  • Experience in Canva, the Adobe Creative Suite, MS 365
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a demanding environment
