About the role
- Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes
- Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications
- Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications
- Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications
- May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures
- Perform engineering services and troubleshooting for Hull Treatment installations at NNS and off-site.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
- Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Comprehensive understanding of hull treatment manufacturing and installation
- Must be willing to work in industrial environments
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Established network with internal and external customers
- Understands the use of basic tools and small machinery
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in operating polymer processing equipment/ machinery
