About the role

  • Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes
  • Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications
  • Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications
  • Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications
  • May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures
  • Perform engineering services and troubleshooting for Hull Treatment installations at NNS and off-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Comprehensive understanding of hull treatment manufacturing and installation
  • Must be willing to work in industrial environments
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Established network with internal and external customers
  • Understands the use of basic tools and small machinery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in operating polymer processing equipment/ machinery
