About the role
- Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
- Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
- Conduct research and assist with the development of components and software required for the modernization of a monitoring and control system aboard the FORD class ships.
- Detail oriented, has a history of delivering high-quality products, analytical, and is capable of concisely communicating information to stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects, facilitating meetings, take ownership of assigned tasking, innovative, foster a positive work environment, and provide project status updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Experience with agile, model based system engineering, cybersecurity, and computer networking.
