About the role

  • Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results
  • construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components
  • quality testing
  • Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
  • This position is specifically for the E83 innovations group which is pursuing robotics, remote video conferencing, artificial intelligence and the application of other advanced technologies for fleet support
  • The candidate should have knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines and interest in developing / applying advanced technology solutions
  • Strong communications and project management skills and interest / experience with the system security plan risk management framework process are desirable

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program
  • 0 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Experience supporting major projects that includes interfacing with senior management, contractors, equipment suppliers, trades and engineering is highly desirable
  • Experience with Navy / DoD programs is also highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with end-user support and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with suppliers on product development and improvement
  • Demonstrate basic project management and leadership skills (e.g., planning, organizing, monitoring, reporting, and leading meetings and briefings)
  • Ability to work with multiple departments, suppliers, and customers to accomplish technical and project objectives
  • Ability to apply engineering and critical thinking principles to develop problem statements and technical solutions to simple and moderately complex problems
