About the role
- Provide on-site coverage for NNS suppliers, traveling 75% of the time or greater, and support extended periods on-site.
- Facilitate discussions with NNS, Navy, and supplier leadership at all levels.
- Review project status, budgets, and manage schedules, preparing status reports.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Evaluate and implement strategies that lead to measurable enhancements in these areas.
- Offer direction, insights, and assistance to the equipment divisions in evaluating the potential hazards and advantages of both current and prospective manufacturing agreements.
- Ensure that production operations risks are collected, prioritized, and mitigated.
- Resolve issues with struggling suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
- One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
