About the role

  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
  • Responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to assigned shipboard systems
  • Research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications
  • Initiate procurement specifications
  • Review and approve vendor proposals
  • Review, comment on, adjudicate and approve vendor furnished information for translation into construction products
  • Interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives
  • Support vendor design reviews and testing
  • Develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings
  • Interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure a seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment
  • Address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility
  • Support shipbuilding production department as required

Requirements

  • 2 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
  • 0 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
  • Previous shipbuilding experience with emphasis on Power Systems (Nice to Have)
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding drawings, and equipment (Nice to Have)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD (Nice to Have)
