About the role
- Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems
- Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
- Supports improvements to the processes used for determining and tracking obsolete material
- Determines prioritization of replacement efforts
- Researches information needed to support engineering material reviews
- Provides technical review of resolutions for obsolete material
- Supports development of technical documents for ordering requirements for applicable resolutions
- Reviews technical responses to Navy supply system Liaison Action Requests (LARs)
- Provides oversight and guidance to engineers, designers, and logistics support personnel
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
- Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- experience with CVN68 Class Propulsion and Reactor plant components (helpful)
- understanding of the Navy supply system ordering requirements (useful)
- knowledge of material specifications, manuals, and qualification requirements
