About the role
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Participates in the development and integration of advanced systems related to maritime applications including submarine systems and sub-sea warfare systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Considerable Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Digital Engineering (DE) experience
- SysML modeling, CAMEO applications, or other MBSE software experience
- Functional and LogicL architectures
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Interested in solving challenging problems
- Self-starter, proficient communicator, and active listener
