About the role
- Analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques.
- Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
- The Operational Strategy team works across the enterprise to establish investment and partnership strategies to meet customer demand, improve company performance, and introduce new technologies into the shipyard.
- In this position, you will lead operational strategy development to increase shipbuilding throughput, analyze constraints and opportunities, identify solutions, both internal and through partnerships, and lead stakeholders to execute the strategy.
- Responsibilities include:
- Leading cross-functional teams to develop investment strategies across operations, supply chain, workforce, and infrastructure
- Conducting diagnostic analyses to identify constraints and opportunities
- Identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to streamline operations
- Managing execution of initiatives by partnering with stakeholders across the company
- Leading internal teams and coordinating closely with initiative owners to develop and execute value creation plans, roadmaps and business cases
- Preparing strategy documents for senior internal and external stakeholders
- Preparing cross-program reporting on strategy, investments, and execution of improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Masters' Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
- One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree : NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
