About the role

  • Conduct media and influencer relations: proactive engagement, storyline development, and securing coverage
  • Manage client service: facilitate media briefings, own portions of PR calls, provide counsel, and present account progress
  • Own elements of PR programs including analysts, influencers, speaking, and content
  • Produce and edit content: press releases, award submissions, fact sheets, backgrounders, biographies, briefing books, contributed articles, pitches, Q&As, and other materials
  • Mentor junior staff, set goals, deliver reviews, and support team development
  • Participate in agency operations: new business research/presentations, networking, and promoting agency social channels and blog
  • Manage up and down, use flexible work policies responsibly, and contribute to agency culture
  • Set quarterly personal development goals, prioritize responsibilities, and drive projects to completion

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of PR experience (agency or startup)
  • Solid relationships with key media and influencer targets
  • Strong knowledge of media and influencers relevant to clients’ business
  • Proactive media engagement and storyline development
  • Exceptional writing ability; ability to generate press releases and other content with minimal edits
  • Ability to generate and edit award submissions, press releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, biographies, tour reports, briefing books, contributed articles, speaking opportunity abstracts, pitches, Q&As, company memorandum and general team correspondence
  • Professional, articulate and timely client communication
  • Experience owning key elements of PR programs (analysts, influencers, speaking, content)
  • Client service skills including facilitating media briefings, owning portions of client PR calls, and presenting account progress
  • Mentoring and leadership experience; ability to mentor junior staff and deliver reviews
  • Participation in new business process, research and pitching
  • Networking and event attendance
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and drive projects forward independently
  • Proficiency with social media
