About the role

  • Lead 3 to 4 teams across client strategy, media, influencers and social media
  • Develop high-level strategy with clients and set program goals
  • Manage PR programs from kickoff through achieving goals
  • Direct staff to build media relationships and engage social channels
  • Engage media for agency events and outreach
  • Measure ROI of communications activities and amplify coverage via influencers and social
  • Serve as day-to-day client contact and maintain exceptional client management
  • Manage budgets, team priorities, and identify opportunities to increase budget
  • Lead media training sessions and develop key messages
  • Produce and edit press releases, award submissions, briefing books, pitches, and other communications materials
  • Maintain 2 direct reports, provide mentorship, goals, and performance reviews
  • Participate in new business development and attend networking events
  • Support teams, manage up and down, and model professional conduct
  • Use Highwire social channels and contribute to company blog

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience growing teams and delighting clients
  • Technology background and established relationships with consumer tech media
  • Rock-solid writing skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the technology industry
  • Proficiency with all things digital and social
  • Track record of leading edge thinking to develop programs with meaningful business impact
  • Ability to lead 3 to 4 teams
  • Ability to manage PR programs from kick off through achieving goals
  • Strong relationships with business, broadcast and influencer media
  • Experience measuring the ROI of communications activities
  • Experience with social media influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification
  • Exceptional client management skills
  • Ability to manage through periods of change or challenge
  • Ability to think clearly and project confidence amid crisis situations
  • Ability to set aggressive but achievable goals
  • Develop budget and team priority allocations
  • Lead media training sessions with clients
  • Generate and edit various communications materials (press releases, award submissions, fact sheets, etc.)
  • Maintain 2 direct reports and conduct annual reviews and quarterly check ins
  • Participation in new business process including pitching
  • Uses Highwire social channels; writes for Highwire blog
  • Mentor junior staff to elevate development
