Job Level
About the role
- You'll refine and optimize the core platform that powers Hightouch's business. This means:
- Polish and elevate craft: You'll identify friction points in existing flows and systematically improve usability, visual design, and interaction patterns. You're obsessed with details and know how to balance perfection with pragmatism.
- Deep collaboration: You'll work embedded with engineering teams (Customer Studio Backend, Control Plane, IDR) and PMs to shape product strategy and execution. You'll write specs, participate in technical discussions, and be a thought partner throughout the development process.
- Product thinking at scale: You'll connect with enterprise customers, synthesize complex requirements across different user types (marketers, admins, data teams), and translate those insights into elegant solutions that work for both novice and power users.
- Leverage AI tools: You'll use tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Framer to prototype faster, generate variations, and explore design possibilities that would be too time-consuming to build manually. You'll push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted design.
- System-level thinking: You'll work across multiple product areas (Customer Studio, IDR, Control Plane) and identify opportunities to create unified experiences and shared patterns that scale across the platform.
- Own the details: From empty states to error handling to loading patterns at massive data scale, you'll ensure every interaction is thoughtful and polished.
Requirements
- 4+ years designing and shipping user-friendly features or applications in technical spaces. Experience with B2B data products, marketing tools, or enterprise platforms is a major plus.
- Exceptional craft: Your visual design, interaction design, and UI skills are top-tier. You have a portfolio that demonstrates obsessive attention to detail and systematic thinking.
- Technical fluency: You're comfortable discussing data models, APIs, performance constraints, and technical tradeoffs. You can hold your own in conversations with engineers and understand how systems work under the hood.
- Enterprise product experience: You understand the complexity of building for large organizations with multiple user types, permission models, and governance requirements.
- Collaborative mindset: You're kind, humble, and assume good intentions. You're comfortable being embedded with engineering teams and see yourself as a thought partner, not just a service provider.
- AI tool proficiency: You're actively using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, or similar to enhance your workflow. Bonus points if you're pushing the limits of what these tools can do.
- Figma mastery required.
Benefits
- Weekly crits: Bring your work, get constructive feedback from relevant stakeholders.
- Design jams: We jam on the big stuff as a team (color palettes, new patterns, practice retros).
- Design system: We've invested in our system since day one. Expanding library, regular sync with engineering.
- Design cooldown: Bi-weekly sessions where we experiment with new tools, run design exercises, and work on side projects that have nothing to do with our roadmap. Past activities include building interactive prototypes in Framer, exploring AI design tools, and collaborative illustration sessions.
