About the role
- Establish hotel pricing levels in all segments and manage daily pricing processes
- Responsible for the daily room inventory management process
- Monitor competitor rates, positioning, strategies and local market dynamics and present action plans
- Monitor and communicate occupancy fluctuations to operational departments to manage staffing and efficiency
- Analyze local events and activities and project their revenue impact
- Understand macro and micro-economic variables affecting supply and demand and create accurate room revenue forecasts
- Perform unconstrained demand analysis to determine optimal business mix
- Prepare all short and long term forecasts including Weekly, 30/60/90, In-month, and Full year forecasts
- Oversee evaluation of contracted business (group, wholesale, corporate negotiated) and enable high-speed response while maximizing profits
- Maintain and manage software programs contributing to rooms revenue management (CRS, RMS, PMS, Sales & Catering)
- Monitor RevPAR index on STR report and provide weekly and monthly performance analysis
- Prepare annual Rooms revenue budget and present quarterly presentations to ownership
- Chair weekly Revenue Strategy meetings to formulate and disseminate strategies and tactics
- Ensure distribution channels have correct content and pricing and maintain relationships with Third Party Intermediaries
- Develop relationships with market revenue managers and Directors of Revenue and coordinate market/network activities
- Coordinate survey activities involving marketing and service opportunities to enhance revenue potential
- Actively develop subordinates through training, mentoring, and industry event participation
- Manage Internet Marketing such as pay per click campaigns, e-mail blasts, GDS advertising
- Establish and communicate sales strategy for day, week, month and rolling 12 months and update calendars for sales team
- Analyze prior night successes, overselling decisions and address opportunities in HHBR morning meeting
- Place test calls to Central Reservation Office and property to ensure rate accuracy and selling approach
- Manage and communicate group cut off dates, run group rooms control log (GRC), and verify pick up reports
- Update the Daily Market Segment Analysis (DMSA) and ensure accuracy from the daily Flash Report
- Complete all required month end reports with detailed analysis and create action plans as necessary
- Review Hotelligence reports for trends, booking windows, sources of business and competitor rate comparisons
Requirements
- At least 2 years experience in the Revenue Management field as manager or senior analyst
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hotel or Hospitality Management or closely related field
- In-Depth knowledge of all industry reports such as STR, Hotelligence, Market Vision, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
- Experience with CRS, RMS, PMS and Sales & Catering systems
- Ability to work quickly in a high-pressure & high stress environment
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional with details and follow up
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required
