About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to transportation projects in areas like agency strategic planning, long-range planning, program and policy development, performance management, safety analysis, asset management, and grant writing
- Gather, interpret, and synthesize information from varied reputable sources
- Use tools like Excel, R, Python, Tableau, and Power BI for data analysis and visualization
- Build maps and perform spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Design and conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops for stakeholder input
- Turn research and analysis into clear written deliverables
- Develop resumes and project descriptions for business proposals
- Proofread and fact-check work across tasks
- Support project managers with logistics and scheduling
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; common backgrounds include public policy, political science, public administration, planning, economics, data science, and civil engineering
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Self-motivated with good time management
- Comfort learning new tools and approaches
- Permanent U.S. work authorization
- Preferred 3+ years of professional work experience, or a postgraduate degree in a relevant field and 1+ year of professional experience
- Prior consulting experience
- Transportation domain knowledge
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, etc.)
- Comfort with AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
- Coding familiarity (R, Python)
