About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete nutrition assessments and follow-ups for individuals with increased nutritional needs
- Document nutritional goals and changes in status in medical records
- Educate individuals and family members on nutritional needs
- Attend patient rounds on assigned floors
- Inform nursing and physicians of changes in nutritional status
- Participate in patient/resident satisfaction programs with culinary and nutrition services
- Ensure processes are followed and participate in performance improvements
- Educate staff, nursing, and food service employees on special diets or formulas
- Review and approve menus, formularies, substitutions, or changes
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Clinical Nutrition Manager, Lead Clinical Dietitian, or DFNS
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Dietitian with the Commission of Dietetic Registration
- Licensed dietitian as required per state regulations
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or related field
- Knowledge of regulatory standards
- Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software
- Ability to interact with individuals of all backgrounds
- Effective written, spoken, and non-verbal communication
- Service-oriented mentality with a focus on exceeding expectations
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize projects and needs
- Willingness to provide support where needed to achieve outcomes
- Integrity, respect, and discretion in business dealings
- Attention to detail and ability to effectively manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Many healthcare facilities require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption in place
