About the role
- Generate and submit claims to insurance companies, government programs, and other payers for services provided to patients.
- Utilize agency management software to accomplish billing tasks efficiently.
- Record and post payments received from insurance companies, patients and other sources to the appropriate patient accounts in the billing system.
- Monitor and follow-up on unpaid claims, rejections/denials, and any outstanding balances to ensure timely collections.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denial to facilitate reimbursement.
- Collaborate with payers to address claim disputes.
- Understanding the processes and requirements related to exchanging health care information with Home Health Agencies, including compliance with regulations and standards.
- Performing regular reconciliation of accounts receivable records with payments received to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborating with other departments and agencies to resolve billing and payment issues and improve processes.
- Generating reports on billing and AR performance, including key metrics and KPIs.
- Effective communication with team members and management.
- Obtain and maintain an understanding of customers’ objectives and goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred
- A minimum of 3+ years of RCM experience in the homecare industry preferred
- Proficient in MS Office and MS Teams
- Strategic and creative mindset
