About the role
- Oversees support of Process Control functions for refinery operations
- Maintains ongoing awareness of the needs of the business for process control support
- Assists in communicating priorities and reporting progress of assignments to the department and refinery leadership
- Works closely with team members and refinery leaders to establish and deliver on work commitments
- Maintains awareness of process control scope and engineering work performed by the process control group
- Supervises a team of Process Control and Advanced Process Control Engineers
- Manages vendor and contractor relationships as required
- Provides discipline technical assurance for all work within their scope
- Serves as Reviewer/Approver for Control Systems Discipline Management of Change activities
- Enforces, Maintains and Develops policies and procedures for routine change within the Control Systems Discipline
Requirements
- A minimum of ten years engineering experience in a refinery or functionally similar environment is required
- A minimum of five years experience in control systems engineering
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others – typically individual contributors
- Working knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts
- Knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with engineering software
- Advanced reading and writing skills
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbally
