About the role
- Oversees and manages the HF Sinclair Process Reliability Organization
- Assures the functioning of Tech Manager Network and process technology teams
- Assures systems and practices are developed and executed that result in long-range development of process engineering competencies
- Oversees development and ongoing quality of company’s Process Engineering functions
- Assures all engineering activities are in accordance with organizational standards
- Oversees key positions assigned to select SPECIAL OPS teams
- Participate in long range strategic planning and decision making relative to HF Sinclair Manufacturing Assets
- Identifies and develops options around significant refining threats and opportunities
- Support cross-discipline or cross-functional initiatives needing process engineering expertise
- Generates new ideas and ways to improve profitability or new commercial opportunities
- Evaluates new ideas and processes that will improve the Company’s profitability
- Support developing and evaluating major capital projects
Requirements
- A minimum of 15 years of experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the refining industry
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical engineering field is required
- A Master’s Degree in a science or engineering related field is preferred
- Proven leadership ability
- Good spreadsheet, database and word processing applications knowledge
- Advanced time-management, organizational, project planning and management skills
- Demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects
- Advanced verbal and written communications and reading skills
- Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to others
- Presentation, negotiation and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate technical plans, strategies and designs with all levels of the organization
- Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations
- Proficient in procurement, budgeting and cost management
- Knowledge of refinery principles, safety practices, and regulatory compliance procedures
