About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment in proper repair and working condition
  • Fabricate basic machine parts and mechanical equipment parts and provide replacement parts
  • Install, test, service, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical equipment and systems
  • Install, repair, maintain, move, align, and erect production, facility, and electrical equipment
  • Design, program, repair, and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems
  • Complete work orders, preventive maintenance rounds, repairs, and general maintenance
  • Diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs; repair, refit, or replace parts
  • Reorder supplies and equipment as needed
  • Lay out carpentry work and specify materials, including finishing and masonry work
  • Notify supervisors of irregularities or problems with supplies, machinery, or processes
  • Participate in training sessions, seminars, and continual improvement opportunities
  • Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • Clean tools, maintain tool boards, and keep the workstation and surrounding area organized
  • Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report problems to Maintenance
  • Train new Associates as directed
  • Perform other projects or tasks assigned by Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired
  • Associate Degree or Technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • Successful completion of Competency Assessment may be considered in lieu of education
  • Three (3) years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, service manuals, and maintenance records
  • Understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, HVAC, rubber industry production equipment, internal combustion engines, and single- and three-phase electric motors
  • Ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Strong computer/systems skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with E-Maintenance is a plus
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong cooperation and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, and self-motivation
