About the role
- Ensure that engineering of both (improvement) projects and day to day tasks is executed in time with the right quality, making efficient use of the engineering resources
- Ensuring good predictability, accuracy, and quantity of the Engineering department within the Technical Pernis department
- Accountable for the development, implementation and improvement of policies and procedures around Engineering and corrective and preventive Maintenance
- Responsible to maintain and improve management systems supporting engineering and to enforce the use of related policies and procedures
- Develop and maintains plans for the site on strategic business agenda and required maintenance replacement or improvement plans as input to the Long-Term Asset Plan [LTAP]
- Accountable for compliance with all local HSE/Q policies and Hexion guidelines
- Accountable for safety regulations as a role model and pro-actively signals improvement potential
- Accountable for the HSE/Q performance of the direct/indirect reports
- Conducting audits and observation rounds to improve the safety performance
- Accountable for training and development of direct and indirect reports
- Ensure adequate engineering in the early phases of a project, as well as support for detailed engineering construction and start-up phases
- Leads the technical support and engineering for the elimination and solving of equipment, process and system problems at the site
Requirements
- Bachelors/Master’s Technical degree from a Technical University (HTS/TU)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Engineering leadership role, preferable in a chemical (manufacturing)- or engineering contacting industry
- Acts and interacts on an Academic level
- Experience and knowledge of Engineering and Maintenance methods
- Experience with Engineering and Maintenance work processes and methodologies
- Experienced in development of standards and procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- People manager
- Team player
- Strong communication skills on both strategic and operational level
- Dutch and English language skills, both written and verbally.
