Technical Support Engineer – Automotive Sector

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical assistance to automotive customers in central Europe, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to product performance and application.
- Plan, conduct, document, and evaluate tests in production, technical centers, and laboratories.
- Lead and participate in application technology and development projects, including thorough documentation and reporting.
- Coordinate and execute product qualifications with selected customers, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Characterize development materials and competitor products to support product development and improvement.
- Apply knowledge of composite material design models and approaches specifically for automotive applications.
- Compile and verify technical data for product datasheets, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support customers in Europe, predominantly Germany and North Italy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- 5 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector, particularly in technical support and product development.
- Strong technical competence in plastics, composites, and their production and processing technologies.
- Extensive experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes in automotive environment.
- Good understanding of design models and methodologies for structural composite parts in automotive applications.
- Fluent English is required; proficiency in French and any additional language is appreciated.
