About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive technical sales activities for selected Tier 2 Service Provider customers in Italy
Understand customer requirements and propose HPE products and solutions addressing business needs
Showcase HPE technologies through technical sales presentations, whiteboarding sessions, customer technology events, product demonstrations, evaluations, and proof of concepts
Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer technical decision-makers and partners
Lead technical responses for RFPs/RFQs and build bills of materials for sales opportunities
Capture customer and industry requirements and trends for business units
Stay current on industry, competitive solutions, products, and services
Lead discussions on virtualization and automation through presentations and demonstrations
Collaborate with SE peers, Account Managers, and other organizational teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience in Sales/Presales
Fluent in English
Strong experience with Service Provider networks in technical/pre-sales, Sales/Systems Engineer, or Network Architecture roles
Expert knowledge of routing technologies and protocols, including MPLS and Segment Routing
Experience in areas such as automation, Cloud/DC, security, and network virtualization
Knowledge or strong interest in network automation and network virtualization
Knowledge of Python, Ansible, Netconf YANG, JSON, or OpenConfig is desirable
Knowledge of Service Provider security is a plus
Understanding of Service Provider market trends and emerging use cases
Knowledge of HPE products and solutions is desirable
Knowledge of HPE competitors’ products and services
Strong written, oral, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences
Ability to learn quickly and apply skills in new areas
Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Self-motivated team player able to work independently with minimal supervision
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Industry certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CISSP, or CCIE are beneficial
