About the role

  • Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer role on the Compute & Cloud Services Engineering organization (CCSE).
  • CCSE builds and operates software that supports HPE server hardware; maintains a collection of system management products; SaaS or licensed to customers.
  • The Platform & Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) team responsibilities: Manage AWS infrastructure; Build and support COM Secure Gateway; Build and support automations for deploying infrastructure and software.
  • The Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer is a role for an experienced engineer who can work independently across multiple technologies.
  • Responsibilities include: developing production-quality software, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure, and understanding deployment pipelines from beginning to end.
  • About products: COM SaaS, COM Secure Gateway, OneView; self-hosted system management; integration with COM.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Python, Go, AWS (specifically EKS, EC2, Networking, IAM, S3, RDS, MSK, OpenSearch, and Cloudfront)
  • Proficient in creating and managing virtual machines.
  • Skilled in building, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications.
  • Experienced in designing, developing, and consuming HTTP-based APIs.
  • Experience deploying, monitoring, and automating AWS infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience operating, administering, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
  • Git
  • Terraform, Github Actions.

  • Experience operating and using Kubernetes on bare metal (not EKS)
  • Experience with bare-metal hardware
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts
