About the role

  • Architect & Design Lab Infrastructure: Develop end-to-end architectures including compute, storage, networking (FC, iSCSI, virtual, physical), and automation frameworks.
  • Drive long-term scalability, resiliency, and modernization of engineering lab ecosystems.
  • Engineering Lab Operations Support: Oversee install, configuration, break/fix, and lifecycle operations for engineering equipment.
  • Ensure labs run smoothly across multiple HPE sites, including power, cooling, monitoring, and utilization optimization.
  • Network Architecture & Security: Design and maintain secure, scalable network topologies.
  • Collaborate with Cyber IT on vulnerabilities, mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Tools, Automation & Engineering Services: Provide engineering tools, automation solutions, and applications that streamline developer workflows and promote efficiency.
  • Lead deployments of new tools and first-article integrations for NPI programs.
  • NPI & Program Engagement: Support new hardware and product introduction by coordinating lab space, deploying systems, and aligning lab infrastructure with program schedules and requirements.
  • Monitoring, Diagnostics & Reporting: Implement and manage monitoring systems, performance diagnostics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure lab service health, SLAs, and operational reliability.
  • Inventory, Lifecycle & Resource Management: Partner with Engineering and NPI teams to define BOMs, manage ordering, and track hardware throughout its lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in data center lab infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, network fabrics, and automation.
  • Experience designing solutions for scalability, resilience, and performance in engineering lab environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-vendor, multi-technology systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, cyber, NPI, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ownership of lab operations, architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives.
