About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the GM and Commercial and Academic business leaders on strategy and investment decisions
  • Develop financial plans and forecasts to promote growth
  • Implement automation and AI tooling to improve finance efficiency
  • Challenge business leaders to meet financial commitments
  • Maintain robust financial controls and accurate, timely information
  • Develop and lead high-performing finance teams
  • Manage the reporting calendar and finance deliverables
  • Build relationships across the business and influence stakeholders
  • Attend and oversee materials for business review meetings
  • Manage the finance function for Canada, including financial control, reporting, and transactional finance
  • Coach, develop, and transform the finance team
  • Embed finance as a business partner and provide financial insight and advice
  • Manage compliance and regulatory matters, including quarterly reporting, SOX, and internal controls
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and KPIs
  • Maintain forecasting accuracy and coordinate profit improvement plans and remedial actions
  • Oversee the annual statutory audit and external auditor relationship
  • Lead preparation, sign-off, and maintenance of the annual budget
  • Implement company initiatives across the finance function
  • Lead finance transformation and continuous improvement projects
  • Promote an inclusive and diverse culture aligned with Henry Schein One values
  • Work with the International FD on long-range plans and budgets
  • Perform investment modelling to evaluate project viability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Finance leadership position
  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience in the SaaS/Tech sector
  • Proven record of leading, transforming and creating finance teams
  • Experience communicating, influencing and presenting at a senior level
  • Ability to communicate technically complex financial issues with effective influencing skills at all levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working in a highly regulated framework or globally listed organization
  • Knowledge of USGAAP, SOX, IFRS, or local GAAP
  • Experience working on Microsoft Dynamics is preferable
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and accountably
  • Ability to lead and influence across a remote work environment
