About the role
- Maintain a comprehensive tax calendar and ensure all statutory deadlines are met
- Prepare and/or manage the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, including extensions and estimated tax payments
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from state and federal tax authorities
- Manage third-party vendors for sales, use, and property taxes
- Calculate income tax provisions for monthly and annual financial reporting
- Develop, document, and monitor internal controls over tax processes
- Reconcile tax‑related general ledger accounts monthly
- Serve as primary point of contact for state and federal tax authorities
- Coordinate with internal Finance, Legal, and external advisors on tax matters impacting North America
- Work with tax planning opportunities and communicate findings to the Tax Director
- Research federal and state tax technical issues and prepare supporting documentation or technical memos
- Provide tax guidance on specific transactions and collaborate with Finance to respond to tax‑related information requests
- Identify opportunities to improve processes for gathering and managing tax‑sensitive information
Requirements
- CPA required
- Minimum five years of experience in tax, including public accounting experience
- Prior experience working directly with state and federal tax authorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; Master’s in Tax or Finance preferred
- Experience with accounting software systems; Microsoft D365 experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; strong skills with PowerPoint and database tools such as Access
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the region and abroad
