About the role
- build and maintain data models using dbt, creating a reliable, well-documented analytics layer that supports teams across the business.
- collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to deeply understand reporting needs and turn those into scalable, trustworthy data solutions.
- define and develop core metrics, reusable dimensions, and standardized data models that power BI dashboards and reporting.
- ensure the accuracy and consistency of our data by implementing thorough data quality tests and validation processes.
- design and optimize SQL queries for performance, readability, and long-term maintainability.
- write and maintain clear, accessible documentation for your data models, transformations, and business logic.
- support Looker (and potentially other BI tools) by building strong data foundations that enable self-serve analytics across the company.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics engineering.
- proficiency with dbt (data build tool) and enjoy building modular, maintainable data models.
- write advanced SQL comfortably, including complex joins, CTEs, and window functions.
- hands-on experience working with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, and understand how to design data for usability.
- familiar with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- bring strong business acumen and a curiosity to deeply understand how data can drive better outcomes.
- communicate clearly and effectively—especially when translating technical concepts for non-technical partners.
