About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take responsibility for the technical and disciplinary leadership of an international accounting team.
  • Own the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) as well as group-wide accounting policies.
  • Analyze complex accounting and business transactions and develop well-founded recommendations for management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal policies and proper financial reporting.
  • Drive process optimizations, digitalization and the continuous development of the accounting organization.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations and support the team with complex issues and period-end closing tasks.
  • Further develop internal control systems and strengthen an efficient compliance and control environment.
  • Coordinate cooperation with external auditors, tax advisors and international corporate functions.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on accounting matters and support cross-functional finance projects.
  • Work closely with Controlling and Finance and lead special projects to advance the finance organization.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed commercial training with further qualification as a certified balance sheet accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or a degree with a focus on accounting or finance.
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable leadership position in accounting.
  • Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and the ability to independently prepare annual financial statements.
  • Ideally, knowledge of international accounting under IFRS; experience with French GAAP is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in a corporate/group environment and preferably in collaboration with shared-service centers.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to support the team in day-to-day operations.
  • Confident communication in German (at least C1) and English (at least C1).
  • Analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style.
