About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
Advise product and engineering teams on legal considerations related to Hello Heart's mobile app and AI/ML-driven features.
Draft and advise on product-facing legal materials.
Review, negotiate, and manage vendor and supplier agreements.
Support the Compliance function on HIPAA, FDA, FTC, CMS, and HHS OIG requirements.
Partner with internal stakeholders to build and maintain efficient legal processes.
Provide day-to-day legal counseling to commercial and product teams.
Support monitoring developments in digital health law and regulation.
Support special projects, investigations, and new business initiatives as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of legal experience, with a mix of transactional, product counseling, including advising on regulatory risk.
Law firm experience required; in-house experience in healthcare, digital health, or medical devices preferred.
Experience advising on product and technology matters, including legal risks and considerations related to data privacy, AI/ML, intellectual property, or FDA-regulated products.
Track record of drafting and negotiating commercial agreements of varying complexity.
Experience negotiating SaaS, technology, and vendor procurement agreements.
Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks in digital health, including HIPAA, FDA, FTC, and CMS.
Strong judgment in identifying risks and developing practical, business-oriented solutions.
Highly organized, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple matters simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Team player willing to pitch in across a wide variety of legal and business needs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, effective in a distributed environment.
JD from an accredited U.S. law school; licensed and in good standing with a state bar.
