About the role

  • responsible for acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts
  • conducting price and contract negotiations
  • identifying new business opportunities and market potential based on market, trend and competitor analyses
  • planning, conducting and following up on customer visits
  • coordinating with Airfreight Product, Customer Service, Pricing and internal stakeholders
  • handling and coordinating airfreight quotations, tenders (RFQs) and rate inquiries
  • proactively following up on quotations to ensure a defined hit rate and to increase GP and volume in tons
  • ensuring documentation of all sales activities in the CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • supporting the onboarding of new airfreight customers
  • contributing to the development of airfreight products based on customer feedback
  • professionally representing the company at industry events, trade shows and on social media

Requirements

  • commercial training in forwarding/logistics or equivalent additional qualification or further training
  • at least three years of professional experience in field sales within the logistics industry
  • solid product, process and market knowledge in airfreight (import/export, rates, trade lanes)
  • proven record of new customer acquisitions with regular airfreight business in recent years and a good network of customers and the air freight market
  • confident knowledge of common MS Office applications and experience working with CRM systems
  • fluent German and good English language skills, both written and spoken
  • team-oriented and independent working style with strong organizational skills
  • negotiating skills, persuasiveness and a strong customer- and solution-oriented mindset
  • excellent presentation skills and a confident, professional demeanor
  • willingness to travel within the sales territory (up to 75%)
