About the role
- Lead integration initiatives for major European healthcare systems including UK systems (EMIS, SystmOne), as well as German, French, and Spanish healthcare platforms
- Implement European healthcare interoperability standards and ensure product compliance with GDPR, MDR, and national health data protection requirements
- Develop strategic relationships with major European health systems, university hospitals, EHR vendors, and middleware providers
- Collaborate with engineering, regulatory affairs, and clinical advisory teams to prioritize regional development needs and ensure technical feasibility
- Take complete ownership from discovery through enterprise deployment, ensuring successful product-market fit across multiple European markets
Requirements
- 5+ years in European healthcare IT with deep knowledge of HL7 FHIR R4, IHE Europe profiles, EN 13606, and regional messaging standards (GDT/BDT, HL7-ES)
- Understanding of healthcare systems across Germany, France, Spain, and UK, including clinical workflows, regulatory landscapes (GDPR, MDR), and procurement processes
- Proven experience with RESTful APIs, OAuth 2.0, SMART on FHIR, enterprise integration patterns, and clinical terminology systems (SNOMED-CT, ICD-10 variants)
- Track record managing complex B2B healthcare products with distributed teams, including stakeholder management with clinical leaders and IT executives
- Experience navigating European health IT regulations, data protection laws, and emerging AI Act requirements
- Fluency in English required with multilingual capabilities preferred; strong technical documentation and cross-cultural collaboration skills
- Familiarity with healthcare standards organizations and established relationships within European health informatics community
