About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own revenue recognition end to end across all revenue streams and entities
  • Ensure compliance with AASB 15 / ASC 606
  • Prepare and review month-end revenue journals, accruals, and deferred revenue schedules
  • Review new and amended customer contracts for correct revenue treatment
  • Assess multi-element arrangements and variable consideration
  • Own revenue-related balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract assets and liabilities
  • Partner with AR to ensure billing and collections data flows into the ledger and reporting
  • Work with RevOps, Legal, Commerce, Product, Sales, and Customer Success on pricing models, deal structures, and contract terms
  • Support audits by preparing revenue schedules and responding to external auditor queries
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation
  • Provide technical guidance to junior accounting team members
  • Contribute to broader month-end close activities and ad hoc finance projects
  • Use AI tooling to improve accuracy and speed across revenue accounting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CA or CPA qualified, or near completion
  • 7+ years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or audit
  • Ideally, exposure to SaaS or subscription revenue
  • Strong working knowledge of AASB 15 / ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
  • Experience operating in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
  • Comfortable working in an ERP environment with imperfect data
  • Ability to build controls around maturing systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
  • Confident communicator able to work directly with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Ability to challenge deal structures, processes, or shortcuts that create revenue risk
  • Big 4 background is a nice to have
  • Experience with Stripe or similar billing platforms is a nice to have
  • Experience with Campfire or NetSuite is a nice to have
  • Experience with HubSpot deal and quote data is a nice to have
  • Comfortable with SQL or Python for querying and reconciling revenue data at scale is a nice to have
