  • Maintain MassHealth renewal tracking systems and generate status reports
  • Communicate with state agencies, managed care organizations, and third-party payers
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
  • Provide financial insight affecting discharge planning or long-term placement
  • Coordinate with admissions, social work, clinical, and billing teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2–5+ years of experience in patient financial services, case management, or healthcare billing
  • Experience with Massachusetts Medicaid (MassHealth) eligibility and applications
  • Experience with long-term care and hospital reimbursement
  • Deep understanding of MassHealth application and renewal processes
  • Knowledge of long-term care custodial reimbursement structures
  • Knowledge of SNF reimbursement, including Medicare Part A and Medicaid coordination
  • Knowledge of managed care reimbursement models and authorization requirements
  • Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility rules, including income/assets and the 5-year lookback
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification and billing workflows
  • Experience reviewing financial documents and managing cases preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience with EMR and billing systems preferred
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts long-term care regulations and compliance standards
  • Meditech experience desirable; other nursing home software considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
