About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- This position provides case management supports that link participants to vocational and career options.
- The position also supports educational linkages, and in-program education of participants by developing and implementing curricula, providing in-program classroom like instructions for youth as needed.
- Engages in academic, recreational and physical education activities with youth.
- Provides mentorship to youth and supports linkage to GED, and vocational programs.
- Monitors and supervises program participants and ensures a safe and secure environment both on site and during off-site activities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors Degree in related field.
- Two (2) years teaching experience or related teaching experience, such as tutoring, mentoring, coaching, classroom facilitation, etc.
- Experience teaching preferred. Expertise in a particular subject area is strongly preferred required.
- A valid driver’s license required.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Fluency in a second language may be required.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
