About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate the successful workflow of the shift and cascade direction from the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Serve as a resource and subject matter expert to assigned warehouse personnel
  • Coordinate activities in the assigned warehouse area
  • Operate all PIT equipment in all areas of the department
  • Facilitate communication among warehouse employees to meet productivity metrics
  • Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation
  • Promote safety and complete pre-shift equipment checks
  • Follow food safety and food security guidelines, including SQF, GMP, and HACCP
  • Provide coverage for assigned team members during absences
  • Plan work schedules, assignments, and picking/loading sequences with the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager
  • Communicate with operational counterparts to ensure product availability
  • Assist with employee training
  • Ensure quality through accurate inventory transactions and material movements
  • Perform routine care and maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment
  • Complete cycle counts and basic inventory control processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years in a previous leadership role preferred
  • Must be at the skill level of a Warehouse Specialist or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and coach employees
  • Demonstrated record of leading successful change with measurable results
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a group
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate all PIT equipment in the department
  • Ability to complete cycle counts and perform basic inventory control processes/procedures
  • Ability to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to work extended hours, including daily overtime and occasional weekends
  • Visual acuity to document company records
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
