About the role
- Work closely with the Senior Physical Security Programming Engineer and onsite technical team to program and configure door access, video surveillance, intercoms, etc.
- Support the network components of the physical security installation
- Provide consultative and proactive project management support to HBS’s account base.
- Obtain knowledge on other technologies, as directed by customer demand.
- Serve both external and internal clients’ needs, understanding their concerns, and seeking to build trust.
- Provide sales consultants and fellow Engineers with physical security design assistance, review, validation, and optimization of systems and protocols.
- Contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices.
- Understand common vulnerabilities and associated risk mitigation strategies.
- Articulate complicated security concepts in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution across the spectrum of systems engineering and integration activities.
- Utilize internal and vendor resources to problem solve, determine, and document best path to resolution.
- Direct resources to team, report on progress, issues, and problem areas, as well as write and review technical documents.
- Attend and participate in weekly team calls as directed by the Team Lead.
- Recognize courses of action which can be taken to handle problems or potential problems and apply contingency plans to solve those problems.
- Work in a team atmosphere as both a leader and contributor as assigned to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals.
- Manage tasks assigned effectively without supervision.
- Cross-Education/Mentoring of other Heartland Engineers or Technicians or related personnel.
- Meet annual billable hour goal, as defined by HBS.
Requirements
- 5+ years related experience (IT or physical security)
- Professional level certifications with at least 3 manufacturers (Axis, Hanwha, Open Options, Lenel S2, Amag, Verkada, Meraki, ExacqVision)
- Experience with Video Surveillance systems and associated hardware/software
- IT experience in networking and Windows
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team oriented and knowledge contributor
- Ability to prioritize requirements and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in business or I.T. related discipline and/or equivalent job experience
- Three or more video surveillance and/or door access manufacturer certifications (within 60 days)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Milestone (Design Engineer MCDE, Integration Engineer MCIE) (required within 60 days)
- Verkada (Verkada Certified Engineer) (required within 60 days)
- Axis Certified Professional (required within 60 days)
