About the role
- Support the Public Relations team in generating positive consumer and trade media coverage for Hearst Magazines brands and business initiatives
- Monitor press coverage and compile clear, insightful recap reports
- Create, update, and manage targeted media lists
- Assist in planning and executing editor appearances and speaking engagements, including interviews, panels, keynotes, and broadcast segments
- Conduct research and draft talking points to support media opportunities
- Identify new press targets and speaking opportunities to expand brand visibility
- Provide on-site PR support for events as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of PR initiatives
Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in publishing, media, communications, and public relations, particularly within culture, entertainment, and lifestyle spaces
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
- Creative, curious, and collaborative mindset
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PhotoShop
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Based in New York City with a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in-office
